This is a really cool resin kit that is also really rare. I searched for this forever and finally someone saw it on my want list and sold it to me. This kit is much smaller than the ERTL kit, around 5 inches, and is significantly more detailed. Eventually I plan to light this kit using a light bulb and drilling holes through the outside. The Death Star itself was only two halves and a styrene disc to make the trench. I didn't glue the two halves together because I eventually want to be able to add the light. Painting was tedious. I based it in Gray Primer and painted all of the panels by hand with a Pewter Gray. That took several nights to do, very time consuming!! The base consisted of a smooth resin base and a metal rod. The seller originally wanted $50 but I talked him down to $35.
