This is another one of AMT/ERTL's cool diorama kits. This one is pretty similar to the Cantina Action Scene as it shows a variety of Scum and Villainy. Of course the setup that I have is chronologically inaccurate, but that's ok. How can Han be standing before Jabba and frozen in Carbonite at the same time? How can Luke be there and Leia still be dressed as Boushh? Whatever, it doesn't really matter. I did it to cover up the main problem with the kit. Not enough people! Granted, they did better than the Cantina, but it is still horribly short. There should be a ton of more people. 1/63 is a hard scale to find filler people for. The people that are included look pretty good though. They got most of the aliens right, which is good. There wasn't much construction on this kit. You just had to assemble some of the architecture and some of the characters. This kit was my first experience with puttying of any sort. I tried to use some grout sealer stuff to fill the gaps in between the walls. Hey! I honestly had no idea what I was doing! I had no one to teach me, so I just had to experiment and find my own way, so don't laugh! Ok, you can laugh, but don't tell me. Anyway...painting this thing was a pain in the butt. There were sooo many different colors and shades and whatever. I had to switch paints and mix paints a zillion times to do everything. It took a really long time. It's worth it though, because diorama kits are always so fun to set up. It's hard to translate what you see in the movie onto the kit so I had to kind of fudge some placements. If you look closely, Boba Fett is just getting up from a delectable looking nerf steak that I scratch built for him. I got this kit for around $5 at a Christmas Tree Shop.
