This is a really cool, cartoon styled Stormtrooper kit that is a companion to another, slightly different one. This was made by the small company called Red Baron who also made a Boba Fett piece. The kit was pretty cleanly cast in a very smooth green resin. The extreme smoothness actually made it a little difficult to paint. Cleanup was easy so on to construction. As with most Stormtrooper kits, you want to try to paint as much as you can before you assemble. It is really hard to put a whole Stormtrooper together, paint it white and then try to paint the black under suit. This is especially difficult in areas like around the shoulders and armpits. What you want to do is build the kit into several small subassemblies where you can easily reach all areas that need paint. Paint these areas, and then fully assemble the kit and fix any trouble areas. You'll find the kit comes out much neater and saves you a lot of headaches later on. I got this kit from an online retailer for $30. |
