This is an old kit that I really plan on redoing when I get the chance. When I did this kit, I was still pretty inexperienced. The seams are terrible and so is the paint. Don't ask me why I chose that color, I honestly do not know. Someday I'll repaint this with the appropriate color blue. This kit is the old MPC TIE Interceptor that MPC put out before there was ever even a TIE Fighter kit. The kit has some glaring inaccuracies and mistakes. The hull detail is really wrong and there are several things that should be there that aren't, such as engines! The AMT/ERTL TIE Fighter kits are much more accurate. I would suggest swapping the bodies. The cockpit of this kit is way off. It consists of a little figure that looks like a German WWII pilot and a big throne looking thing for him to sit on. The AMT/ERTL, and Fine Molds especially, kits have much better cockpits and I would again suggest swapping. The pilot figure looks absolutely nothing like a TIE pilot. He doesn't even have a helmet. Anyway, that aside, the kit goes together pretty easily. There's only a few parts. Unfortunately they don't fit very well and you are left with some pretty awful seams as you can see. I had some trouble getting the cockpit to sit right inside the ball so be careful. For painting...I don't really want to get into painting. Mine is horribly, horribly wrong and hopefully I'll be able to salvage it someday. I got this kit at KB for $2. They had stacks of them!
