This kit is just spectacular. There is no way around it. Everything about it is incredible. This kit was mastered by the incredible Mark Kozik of Zarkus Model Kits and was produced by the equally wonderful SMT of Canada. The kit consists of quite a few parts that are cleanly cast and filled with detail. Not only does the ship look great on the outside, but it has a fully visible interior! Mark detailed the interior with everything you could possibly imagine from front to rear. There is a spectacular cockpit, sick bay, bathroom (yes bathroom!!) and the troop assembly area. This kit is based on a ship that appears in the Star Wars flight simulator games. Several different versions have appeared and this one is heavily based on the original. It is a very sinister looking craft. The look fits the purpose as it attaches to a disabled ship, bores through the hull and disgorges Stormtroopers into the captured ship. This kit went together very easily and there were no major problem to speak of. The high quality resin readily accepted paint. I started by putting base coat of black on the entire model. Then I went over it in light coats with a gray primer. After that I did some washes as this is a rough craft that does a lot of dirty work. But not too much because it is still Imperial! I then painted on drips and rust spots to further enhance the look. As for detailing the interior I painted the rows of seats a semi-gloss black to simulate cheap cushions. I painted the sick bed Olive Drab, and picked out the other details in silver. As for the cockpit, phew there is a LOT of detail in here. I just went all over it picking out details in every imaginable color. The cockpit is just incredible! After you finish the interior, you can close it all up. Don't glue it though, you don't want to lose all of that wonderful detail. Don't worry, the parts fit perfectly together so it will stay shut, but you can still open it up again. At $50 it is well worth the price! Since SMT has ceased production of all Star Wars related kits, this piece can now be purchased from Zarkus Model Kits at the price of $60.
